Well, hell... I've been gone too long

Well, hell... it's been so long since I wrote a blog I'm not sure where I would even start. How about I start with, "I'm sorry!" Writing has been the sole focus of my writing for quite a while and I get to where I say to myself, "Self, what's the point? It's not adding words to the book." And while writing, I fall down a rabbit hole and forget half of what I'm supposed to do. So, I've decided to structure my day a little differently.  Butt crack of dawn - start writing pen pal letters 11:00 am - eat lunch (I eat like a little kid! Right now mini corn dogs and Veggie Tots are my favorite.) and listen to an audio book. 12:00 pm - Get my crap in order and get ready to actually write instead of think about writing. Sometimes I'll start a writing sprint with my dear friends at the Thriving Authors Academy (waves furiously at everyone 👋) Most Wednesdays I will attend my Mastermind group with Author Ever After until 1:00 pm. 1:00 pm

Review: The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang

The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang My rating: 5 of 5 stars Holy smoke Batman! If you’re ready for your panties to be on fire 🔥 then this book’s for you! And the author accomplishes most of it without penetration. I was also extremely pleased to see that there was a person that was on the spectrum in this book. And how well that person was actually laid out and their feelings and emotions were completely raw. The authors characters are absolutely endearing and heart wrenching all at the same time. I am more than pleased with this book, and cannot give it enough stars! This 10 hour book took me less than 24 hours to listen to! Does that tell you anything? View all my reviews

Review: The Rom-Com Agenda by Jayne Denker

The Rom-Com Agenda by Jayne Denker My rating: 4 of 5 stars What a lovely book. It showed such depth of character and how a person deals with PTSD after caring for a loved one who dies of cancer. The male MC really needed to be slapped in the head (thanks sis) for being such a dunce. I’m glad I’m the end it worked out and everyone lived HEA! I enjoyed the book being set in my neck of the woods. Thank you for that lovely surprise. View all my reviews

Review: The One True Me and You by Remi K. England (MK England)

The One True Me and You by Remi K. England My rating: 5 of 5 stars What a fantastic read. Every teenage person who may struggle with their place in the world and within the LGBTQ+ community in particular NEEDS to read this book!!! The author tells the tale of the struggle with your identity, coming out and being a good friend throughout this entire book so seamlessly that it seems as if the characters don’t come to life, they are already alive. Review: The Billionaire’s Shrubbery

FIVE STARS! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I loved following Will and Virginia’s journey. I really disliked Will at the beginning and was so happy to be there for his journey into a man I’d love to love. Thank you Virginia for being someone I wish I could be so I could live vicariously through you. Well thought out characters, wonderful plot and a scene that had me crying (I’m over-sensitive I think). Ms. Bloom, you are my hero for providing me with a book that with characters I love, a plot I adore, and a premise I wasn’t expecting to love.  I’ve received this book in exchange for an honest review. Opinions are my own because that’s what I do. I hope everyone who reads this book loves it as much as I did.

Review: Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus

An absolutely wonderful book about the power of the human spirit and how a woman can’t be held down by the societal “norms” of the times. I love Elizabeth Zott and the spunk that she holds and how she expects the best out of everyone and will stand up for weaker people.   Ms. Garmus, thank you for making me feel the good, the bad, and the ugly in the 1960s. I’ll never look at history the same way again. See you at Super at Six!

Book Review: A Quick Bite by Lynsay Sands

A Quick Bite by Lynsay Sands My rating: 4 of 5 stars I tried to get into this more, I mean vampires…that’s my jam. But, for some reason had a hard time with the recording of this book (the narrator was not the best and the breaks were not segued very well) and the storyline was just so… dare I say, predictable? I did however like the way she described how vampires came to be. It was most likely a 3.5 for me, but I rounded up. I will end up reading book two since it's by another narrator, and we'll see if that makes a difference. And, besides, vampires... a hot doctor vampire. *sigh* View all my reviews
