Review: The One True Me and You by Remi K. England (MK England)

The One True Me and You by Remi K. England My rating: 5 of 5 stars What a fantastic read. Every teenage person who may struggle with their place in the world and within the LGBTQ+ community in particular NEEDS to read this book!!! The author tells the tale of the struggle with your identity, coming out and being a good friend throughout this entire book so seamlessly that it seems as if the characters don’t come to life, they are already alive. Review: The Billionaire’s Shrubbery

FIVE STARS! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I loved following Will and Virginia’s journey. I really disliked Will at the beginning and was so happy to be there for his journey into a man I’d love to love. Thank you Virginia for being someone I wish I could be so I could live vicariously through you. Well thought out characters, wonderful plot and a scene that had me crying (I’m over-sensitive I think). Ms. Bloom, you are my hero for providing me with a book that with characters I love, a plot I adore, and a premise I wasn’t expecting to love.  I’ve received this book in exchange for an honest review. Opinions are my own because that’s what I do. I hope everyone who reads this book loves it as much as I did.

Review: Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus

An absolutely wonderful book about the power of the human spirit and how a woman can’t be held down by the societal “norms” of the times. I love Elizabeth Zott and the spunk that she holds and how she expects the best out of everyone and will stand up for weaker people.   Ms. Garmus, thank you for making me feel the good, the bad, and the ugly in the 1960s. I’ll never look at history the same way again. See you at Super at Six!

Book Review: A Quick Bite by Lynsay Sands

A Quick Bite by Lynsay Sands My rating: 4 of 5 stars I tried to get into this more, I mean vampires…that’s my jam. But, for some reason had a hard time with the recording of this book (the narrator was not the best and the breaks were not segued very well) and the storyline was just so… dare I say, predictable? I did however like the way she described how vampires came to be. It was most likely a 3.5 for me, but I rounded up. I will end up reading book two since it's by another narrator, and we'll see if that makes a difference. And, besides, vampires... a hot doctor vampire. *sigh* View all my reviews

Author Interview: Tamra B. Orr

Hey, everybody... today we have with us the wonderful and lovely Tamra B. Orr. We’re going to roast her, toast her... I mean interview her.  What is the first book that made you cry? I think it was called Escape to Warsaw. I read it when I was in elementary school and it was my first introduction to war and what happened. I read it over and over and cried every single time.  What made you read it over and over? It was such a foreign way of thinking to me–why hate a person just because of where they lived or what they did/did not believe? I was trying to absorb the concepts, I think.  Does writing energize or exhaust you?  Both. Since writing is my profession, I have due dates, difficult editors, and unreasonable demands that can exhaust me. However, when I am writing and it is all coming together (or I am writing letters!) it energizes me.  (For those of you who aren’t in the know, Tamra is a pen pal too! And a damn good one if I do say so!) What is your writing Kryptonite? Stress. It

Book Review: Happy Place by Emily Henry

Happy Place by Emily Henry My rating: 5 of 5 stars If I could have given the book 10 stars I would have. It was emotional, sexy, moving and so much more all wrapped up into one. And the thing I think I loved most about the story... the sex scenes were not crude and she didn't have to come up with 20 different ways to say what the male organ is called. She made you feel the sex scenes at a deep emotional level, not at a purely carnal level. I laughed, I cried, I was mad, I was happy, I was sad, and I fell in love. What a full day I've had. (I listened to a lot of it on a trip I made today.) View all my reviews
